On Windows, Native Instruments products are loaded in Ableton Live as VST plug-ins. On Mac computers, they can be loaded either as VST or AU plug-ins. Once the products are installed, Ableton Live must scan your plug-in directories in order to make them available in the Third Party Plug-Ins section of the Browser. Installing Native Instruments Products on a New Computer The end user license agreement (EULA) for Native Instruments products allows the simultaneous installation on two computers (three computers for all versions of MASCHINE and KOMPLETE), as long as only one installation is used at any given time. Download a third-party pack(s). Create a folder on your computer or external hard drive called 'Third-Party Packs'. To install the pack, double click the.alp file or drag the pack into Live. Live will recognize it as a third-party Pack and ask where to install it. Choose the 'Third-Party Packs' folder that you created. Adding Serum into Ableton Install Serum from the Splice desktop client (Windows users need to take note of the installation destination, by default under the User’s Documents folder). To get Serum up and running in Ableton you need to check Ableton's AU/VST settings.

Viewing Packs in Live’s browser
Click on Packs, under Places. You’ll see a list of all currently installed Packs. At the bottom you’ll see a section with any updates available, underneath that a list of all other available Packs to download as part of your Live License and a link to browse for more Packs on Ableton.com.
Any greyed out packs means that there’s either an update available for that Pack in order for it to work in Live 10, or the Pack may have been moved or deleted from your hard drive.

Unfold the dropdown where it says that there are updates available.
Ableton How To Use
Then click on the downward pointing arrow to download an update. The icon will change to a pause symbol showing the download progress and when complete changes to “Install”.
Press “Install” and the installation progress dialog will pop up.
Instruments For Ableton Live
Once installed, the Pack displays in Live’s browser and any available lessons open in the Help view.
